📸 Photo Contests and Grants (June Edition)

Happy summer to the majority of this newsletter (it’s cold and raining here in Sydney). Contests and grants have slowed down compared to the last few months, but there are still some very large grants closing this month, as well as some interesting opportunities, including a two-week residency in Kyoto. Here are my top picks for June.

Women Photograph Grants 2025

Women Photograph Grants offer $5,000 and $10,000 awards to support new or in-progress documentary photography projects by women, nonbinary, transgender, and intersex photographers worldwide, promoting diverse voices in visual storytelling.

Prize

• Five $5,000 grants for new or ongoing documentary projects (one reserved for a nonbinary or transgender photographer)

• One $10,000 Women Photograph + Leica grant for a long-term documentary project

Deloitte's Photo Grant 2025

The grant explores the theme of Contrast — the gap between equality and inequality. Two sections are available: the Nomination Section (by invitation) and the Open Call Section (for photographers under 35). Awards include solo exhibitions at Triennale Milano and €60,000 in total funding.

Nomination Section (Deadline: 30 May 2025)

• €40,000 cash prize

• Solo exhibition at Triennale Milano (Nov 2025)

• Publication in the accompanying exhibition catalogue

Open Call Section (Deadline: 30 June 2025)

• €20,000 for project production

• Project mention in Triennale Milano group exhibition

• Future solo exhibition (up to 30 works) in next Award edition
