⭐️📷 Talking photo book production

Many of you are interested in photo books, so I’m excited to introduce Jean-François Bouchard’s work on Cuban counterculture to you. His photo book, The New Cubans, is due out on November 7, 2024.

I met with Jean-François Bouchard (aka JF) in March of 2023 when he booked a portfolio review with me. Aside from his incredible body of work on the underground scene in Cuba, I was impressed with his approach. He sent me a short list of things he wanted to discuss before the review, and once we reviewed everything on the call, he asked me to introduce him to other people who may be interested in the work (which I gladly did). I’m not surprised that when the book is out in early November, he has lined up multiple exhibitions, book signings, and talks to coincide with the release.

You can see his interview about the work on Feature Shoot, but I also wanted to ask him some questions about his process of creating (and marketing) this photo book, which has taken three years and 15 trips to Cuba!
